In 1969, Ole and his wife Hannah met on their honeymoon in Nepal 16 Karmapa and was his first western students. Both had previously studied philosophy and were accordingly skeptical. After three years of Buddhist meditation and study asked Gyalwa Karmapa, the Danish pair of Diamond Way Buddhism in the West to make known. Lama Ole Nydahl Erfolg wäre nicht möglich ohne ein eingespieltes Team: Seit zehn Jahren koordiniert Caty Hartung aus Hamburg als ehrenamtliche Managerin die Arbeit der Diamantweg-Zentren.
